I was thinking more about Sundays message, and I'd really like to hear more about the impact of salvation on our here and now.
I hope that perhaps we get a bit of it in this series, since I think so much of American Evangelical eschatological discourse (wow, what a phrase) really focuses on the afterlife and heaven/hell dichotomy, in what I've heard a number of folks call 'fire insurance faith'. But my reading of the Gospels, and what I understand from the theologians I read, is that's a very limited view on our salvation.
Instead, eternal life begins today, the dichotomy is perhaps more one of heaven and earth, and our reason for salvation and role in response (i.e. Eph 2:10) is a call to assist in ushering in 'thy kingdom come'.
So, that's it: I want to hear more about what it looks like to live our faith, about holiness as the vessel for kingdom-building, and the collective invitation to work with God according to His call
